Whether I'm doing research, lending a hand for someone else's project or just teaching kids what the different macroinvertebrates are, I love being in the water! I hope to get scuba certified in the near future.

Photography is my second passion behind science. You usually won't see me without a camera!

I recently took up road cycling and fell in love with it. I hope to get out on the road more often, especially after this horrible winter we had here in west Michigan!

(Above) My sister and I at her wedding in Portland, Oregon on Mount Tabor. I love my family and appreciate the support they have given me while I am in pursuit of my graduate degree.

(Left) My husband Scott and I love the outdoors. When we aren't busy with life, we enjoy being hiking and kayaking.

(Right) We also love to hang out with our friends here in Michigan. We regularly make dinner together and play an array of games such as hand  and foot, golf, Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride.

My love for the outdoors came from going hikes with my family as a kid, and I continue to appreciate what the outdoors have to offer everyone of all ages. This waterfall is a popular tourist attraction near Portland, Oregon - The Multnomah Falls near the Columbia River Gorge.
